40 day cycle?

We did IVF 3 1/2 times before finally conceiving our first child at 36. The cause of our infertility seemed to primarily be my system. It was unclear if I ever consistently ovulated without assistance and even when they pumped me full of all the drugs we only got relatively few eggs and those we got didn't live long.

My period returned about 6 months after I delivered, even though I was nursing and was more or less regular throughout.

We weaned last month and my period has not come since then. It's now been over 40 days. I took a pregnancy test two weeks ago and it was negative.

So what is this? Menopause? It doesn't make sense to me that weaning for good would make my period stop. I don't feel pregnant. I never had much morning sickness the firs time around but I was queasy here and there. I don't have that. Should I test again? I feel ridiculous being 38 and basically infertile and spending money on pregnancy tests.

Test again. I didn't naturally ovulate once from 18-35. Then IVF, twins, and now I get a regular period.

Do you have PCOS? Many with it only ovulate 1-2x a year.

No PCOS. I guess I'll test again. Fun fun!
