End of fiscal year & implications for hiring process

Anonymous
I interviewed for a couple of federal attorney jobs this summer. I recently followed up with the relevant hiring personnel for each job to see where the respective hiring processes stood, but I have not yet heard back. In the meantime, I'm wondering whether the end of the current fiscal year means that the agencies I interviewed at will lose funding for any positions they have not filled. Can anyone confirm whether this is the case? For what it's worth, one of the two agencies I interviewed at was the DOJ.

Most agencies are closing out the fiscal year which also means reconciling and closing the books. If there is interest, you will likely here something soon after the 30th.
