Does Loudoun County-LCPS offer PAC program? Is this the same as FCPS? Can anyone tell me which schools in Loudoun area have PAC? Thanks..
Yes, although I'm not sure if it's called PAC or something else. Once your child goes through the Child Find process for LCPS, the "team" will decide at the IEP whether or not your child needs a class designed for autistic children, or whether your child would benefit from the non-categorized class. My son is diagnosed with ASD, but is not in the autism-specific class because he is mild on the spectrum. My understanding was that the autism-specific classrooms are for children that are moderate to severe on the spectrum. Hope that helps.
OP here. Thank you so much. Does PAC in fairfax county include kids who are on the milder end of the spectrum. My DS is 3, he is verbal (but cannot carry a conversation, answer who/how kind of questions) but he can clearly express his needs and wants (also potty trained) He lacks play skills and does not know how to play with other kids. Does anyone have any idea if he will qualify for PAC in fcps? Thanks..
