How early should I leave my house -- Silver Spring to Dulles?

I have a 6:40 PM intl. flight tomorrow. I need to check a bag and will probably park in one of the economy shuttle lots.
I haven't been to Dulles in a couple years, and the last time I went was insanely early, so no traffic woes. Friday afternoon on the Beltway and toll road can't be good..... |

If you want to be there (to economy parking) at 4:30 and you are in Silver Spring, I would leave at 3. You may get there a bit early, but that way you will miss a lot of rush hour. I wouldn't leave after 3:30.
The hard part will be the beltway from silver spring to the toll road. |
