They are obviously debating what and how much to change. So there will 100% be a change in their current BY system. No doubt about that now, but to what extent is the question. Possible scenarios:

1- Total change to SY across the board (still seems unlikely to me but maybe not)
2- Partial SY change (just the P2P clubs at MLSN1 and MLSN2).
3- Just MLSN2 changes to SY
4- Enhanced biobanding allowing Q4 SY players to play 'down'.
5- ? Something else ?

5. They go 9/1 because they are mad they are being “forced” to change and want to be as difficult as possible.

Anything but 1 or 2 would be problematic for the clubs and let ECNL gain on the boys side, and I don’t see what the upside is for MLSN

Essentially they will have a top league and a bottom ECNL league as well as ECNL-RL.

Anyone else listen to the new ECNL podcast it sounds like there is going to be a merger between us club and USYS. They talked in the beginning about the benefits of purchasing additional operations and the benefits that leads to.

Sounded more like private equity coming in trying to buy things up and merge the two together. But definitely seems like something is coming.

Not sure what you mean as I've been skipping over all the arguments about showcases. If you asked, I guess if you paid to go, you probably should play with your grade OR just make it all clear to participants before they pay what the rules are so you aren't wasting money. Showcases are just one part of a larger recruiting process anyway.

This is how most rational parents react other than rolling over and letting older players play with the team they paid for.

What GY Guy is hoping for is that you look the other way or let GY Showcases happen at a trial event. Unfortunately once this happens its over Youth Soccer will fall just like all the other sports with 1-2 years holdbacks dominating against younger players. Even better the younger players get to pay for it all.
