We need a category for those who make combined less than $200K a year

Seriously, no all of us on here have million $ homes, nannies, maids, and go on $10k vacations a year. What about the lower middle class (and I say that b/c that's how I feel in the DMV) even though I know we wouldn't be lower middle class in other parts of the country?

That is pretty much the theme of 50% of DCUM posts. The other 50% are people who make twice that and who still feel broke.

= there's never enough.

Well, that's us. But what about the people making $100k, or $50k combined? Do they need another category, or a whole 'nother forum? Seriously.

How about for those of us making less than 100k a year. That's quite a bit different than making 6 figures.

We do, we are known as "the poors"

I am a single parent with one child. Last year I was in court for a custody issue and when my lawyer mentioned I had a HHI of $150K, the judge promptly reminded us that $150K is not a lot of money in this area (I live in N. Arlington). And here I thought I was doing well.

You are doing well. But the judge is correct.

It is not how much you make, but how much you save. If you make $1M and full of debt, are you calling yourself a middle class?

Please. That judge is in a total bubble. Even in Arlington, that's good money. Yes, there are waaaay richer people, but that is still way way above the median income.
