Wow. You are so right. I feel so weird saying this, but I sobbed when that happened. So embarrassing...and I never cry during movies or TV!

I liked the episode but came away wondering why the hell Fern and Marie went to such lengths to hide a safe that contained basically nothing. Why not immediately tell Chalky and Crazy Guy where the safe was and what the combination was? I mean, the safe had nothing but paper in it, right? Give it to them, get them out. Why did they prolong things?

I don't disagree with you but I thought last season was great! This season has started off kinda disappointing, hope it gets better.

Sunday night's episode is still on the dvr to be watched, but saw the previous and thought they wasted too much time on the flashbacks of Nucky's childhood. Yea, I get it now...this is how the relationship with the Commodore started. Did they need to take up so much air time with that? We already knew Nucky's dad was abusive and alcoholic so that wasn't anything new.

I'm surprised that they're still hashing up the story line with Jimmy's mom in the loony bin. I thought that story line was dead when she got arrested last season.

Do you think Margaret is going to call Nucky and give him a heads-up that Rothstien is a client at her (dead) employer's stocks office?

You need to watch the most recent episode. You are way, way, behind.

Bump

SPOILER BELOW!

I thought the writers did a disservice to Chalky, ending him like that. Alden, too. It should've been Eli.

I can't take "young" Nucky seriously. That's the best they could do?! Those teeth look freaking ridiculous!

I agree the teeth are a bit obtrusive, but the actor is phenomenal. The mannerisms, the inclination in voice, the facial expressions are all so similar to Buschemi.

I'm not still understanding the relevance of so much flashbacks. I understand it's good background and understanding of the character development with Nucky/Maybel, Eli, Jillian, the Commodore, etc., but there are only 2 episodes left and a ton of other story lines to piece together.

There is something about the Jillian story line too. The most sane in the asylum, I have a feeling something is going to happen. It keeps coming back when it could've been done with last season.

I think the teenager kid (who found Nucky after he got knocked out and brings him sandwiches) is Johnny Darmody - son ofJimmy Darmody. That is why Nucky keeps doing double takes everytime he's in the room with him. It could also bring Jillian back into the main plot.

I didn't pick up on it at first, but when Margaret paid off Rothstien's widow, her lawyer asked how he could thank Nucky. Margaret replied that (the lawyer) could set up a legitimate account (Mayflower Grain Inc). I wonder if this to get revenge on Kennedy...?

The most recent episode sucked. Seems like the writers are just phoning it in at this point. Every time Lucky Luchiano talks, I think of Andrew Dice Clay.

well i wouldn't say it sucked. there's only one more episode left so they had to 'wrap up' in a constrained time.

I think it was a decent episode.

The entire showdown was kind of a cop out. Like they would have just stood there while two of their comgrades were shot and then trusted Lucky to not kill the nephew/prosecutor.

It all feels really rushed. How can they wrap up 3 seasons of storylines in one last 60 min episode?

You all realize Nucky gets it in the end don't you.

What, does he kill Lucky in the end?

No. That history's been written.

They live, Nucky doesn't. Get used to it.
