Ok. Since you're new to how people react to con artists and scammers, it tends to be out of anger and disgust. It's because it's not okay behavior to a lot of people. This is less of a mental issue, really. Many people find con artists offensive. We can agree that you feel as long as somebody's "hot" and "rich" they get a pass. |
OMG you are so dumb. |

I've been watching this unfold with a combination of horror and fascination, and so have decided to come to The Source for all of the information. Well done, DCUM! This has got to be the strangest and most disturbing tale yet of the distorted values of the celebrity social media presence. Meghan Markle and Christina Anstead notwithstanding, Hilaria's narcissism on display daily is the primary reason why celebrities should just keep their private lives "private". This situation is a train wreck, of her own making of course, but it's still awful to see.
While I did not, and do not, make a habit of following celebrities on IG, when I came across articles about HB I always found her obvious and urgent need to be pregnant, and her over-sharing of the entire process, miscarriages included, to be extremely disturbing and quite frankly abnormal. The fact that she was a "Spanish lady" - and yes, I bought the con - didn't erase the fact that it was abnormal behavior exhibited for all to see on her IG account. The constant posing in bra and panties while holding the Baby Of The Moment was also just as bizarre, along with the incessant pictures of her nursing her latest infant....as the mother of 5 very small children, Spanish lady or not, I could not understand her need to do this. And to get her oldest daughter involved, as in "Picture by Carmen", - it's just the ultimate in narcissistic mothering. Really, who does that? What normal mother that you know, American or otherwise, yourself included, has her 8 year old child involved in taking promotional lingerie shots in the mirror, or yoga pictures in bra and panties with legs all askew and panty-covered perineum wide open for casual viewing by strangers on-line? So, this coming out with a completely fake identity is not much of a surprise. It's plain that her meet and greet with Alec at the restaurant was a set-up, and that a pretty successful catfish ensued from there...but at some point, how stupid is this man that she could continue her lies? How do the two of them go on from here, with the entire world assuming that you've lied to your husband every day for the past 8 + years, and are now a laughingstock because of it. Her mother is a physician, and as a healthcare professional is well aware that something is wrong, hence the crickets. I hope that people that love her have reached out to her with support, of course, but also advice as to how to get the emotional help that she needs. The latest interview in the NYT is not helpful and only serves to prolong the problem. Fine if she doesn't want to do a mea culpa in the press, but for God's sake, book an appointment with a couple of therapists...one for yourself, and one for your children. And then stay off of social media while your marriage, your reputation, and your family heals. |
| All I can think about is Andrea Savage playing Full-on American Vice President Laura Montez on Veep (surname is her husband) and constantly pronouncing her name “Lauuura” and other Spanish words in a heavily exaggerated Spanish accent. Cracked me up then and doubly now. Oh, and Alec, if you’re still here, I’m MUCH more envious of Andrea Savage’s life than Hilary’s - because she’s beautiful and hilarious and I’m sure is awesome to live with and hang out with. Nothing to do with oumlods of money or sexy yoga body or having a bagillion babies. |
I don’t do yoga but you will have to pull my yoga pants off my cold dead toned thighs with a too much cellulite, before I give them up. |
Yes we know. that’s why we said it. |
Nope. If they claim to *be* Indian/from India and imitate an Indian accent, that's one thing. Just enjoying culture? Have at it. |
I agree with you on anyone who calls themselves yogini (snort) but I would venture that's not a lot of people. Going to a yoga class, or wearing elastic pants, does not mean you are committing cultural appropriation. Come on. |
Not true at all. I have not been contacted a single time by anyone connected to the Baldwins. I have removed posts from a transphobic idiot and a few from delusional posters who think they are corresponding directly with Alec or Hilaria Baldwin. I am mostly removing posts in response to "reports" (posts reported by using the "report" button) that are from normal users. |
Andrea Savage is awesome. Watch I’m Sorry if you haven’t. It is outstanding! |
Nobody thinks they're talking to Alec and Hillary here do they? It seems just people poking fun. It is pretty common for PR teams of celebrities to go on forums though |
Indian American yoga teacher here, and I disagree. People can take anything to a disrespectful extreme, but I think the appreciation of yoga by many is a lovely thing. It has helped a lot of people. But Hilaria Baldwin sucks. |
I don't know. Look at this post and you tell me: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/4140/828844.page#18896529 |
Lol. Are you a writer, PP? Some funny prose there. |
Sorry Jeff— that was me. I like my dramatic fantasy better. Thanks for removing the transphobic one. |
