She opens her Eras tour with her most political song, Miss Americana, which has double meanings like many of her songs. The addressing of her politics is covered in the documentary of the same name too

Thank you for confirming you are an elderly person who has no connection with the real world in 2024 |
Maybe Taylor can also write a cringeworthy song like "Do They Know it's Christmas" that doesn't age well. |
Sure, sure.... Except, she has. |
Oh look the true Taylor fans are here. They can only make fun of people. They are really good at that. Thanks to whoever actually helped and linked to articles where she stated “she lives in fear of violence and carries bandages around”. Good to know. I do actually appreciate those links. Maybe she will take more a stand now that she “really studied the political system” I hope she does use those billions for something other than herself. |
Yeah I think she used the double meaning is so she can hide behind it and not offend her republican fans. She is so boring about it and basically writes about her heartbreak over losing an election. There isn’t much political statement there other than the other guys won and I’m sad. I hope she starts standing for something for real, not just hiding behind inaugural gowns disguised as prom dresses. |
She very much does: https://www.cnn.com/us/taylor-swift-birthday-charities-donate-iyw/index.html Every Era's Tour stop she donates to the local food bank that essentially keeps them in operation for an entire year. https://www.foxbusiness.com/entertainment/billionaire-taylor-swift-gives-back-donating-millions Going back to the start of her career, she's been pretty philanthropic. https://www.imdb.com/news/ni62138653/ And of course the $100,000 bonuses to her crew and truck drivers on the Eras Tour. I'm not saying she's perfect, and could do more when you have $1 billion, but she's definitely spreading it around. |
| I understand wishing she would, but it seems too presumptuous to be critical of her for not. At least for me, anyway. But I don't really expect celebs to speak out about issues and don't care if they don't. It is not my business. |
Are you kidding? She's out on record that she opposed the Republican because of her lack of willingness to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. She's 100% pro-LGBTQ rights. But you're right, the video and lyrics of You Need to Calm Down are so veiled, you really need to wade through it all to get to the true meaning.... |
Right? It is pretty funny to see all of the what I would assume are conservative-leaning moms and their dds especially in the south yell "and shade never many anybody less gay". |
These are criticisms from like a decade ago. LOL. |
Because it was going to be too hot not in a moment of silence for the victim. Then she played on without addressing it and had the family come and visit her a few days later at a concert which she was also criticized for. It’s probably hard to keep track all the faux rage events. |
And if Taylor likes him flaws and all what are we really talking about here? Ick give me your best shot! |
She did in fact address it. Maybe not in the way people who never met the woman and probably don’t know her name if pressed, and just like to as you say express faux rage over an event that she didn’t control (the event organizers and the country were to blame for the lack of water). It wasn’t a moment of silence but of song. If you want her to express herself through song about guns, why not this? |
