How much do you pay to have your piano tuned? We just purchased a used Yamaha and it has not been tuned in some years.
Thanks. |
I think basic tuning is about $150. If yours hasn't been tuned in a while, it might need some other work ( can't remember, but the technical term may be "regulating"). A certain amount of work beyond straight tuning is included in the basic fee, but possibly could go up from the basic fee. Fees vary, so you can comparison shop. |
Thanks. The guy quoted me 165 for the initial tuning, with the possibility of additional fees ($30 - $40) if additional work is needed..
I will do a little comparison shopping for sure. Thanks! |
We use Dennis Monke and it's around $150. And he's very good: 301-982-0866. |
Guy named Michael Hugo tuned ours last week. $100. It's more if you want him to take it up a pitch. But he got our 1999 Yamaha up to A. |
I used Tom Wright 240-383-9345. He is working for the Catholic University. Our piano has not been tuned in 4 years. He charged $140 + extra $ 40 ( because he had t o re-tune it three times). He did an amazing job and he was for about 3 hours at our place. I highly recommend him. The children are practicing so much since the sound is beautiful. I will never ever let pass more than 6 months before another tuning. |
Our son's piano teacher recommended Roger Piano Tuning. 1-800-877-2749. He charges $70-$80. We've had our piano tuned several times. Our son's teacher has a Steinway too. |
