| At what age would you let your child get two piercings on one/both ears (if they had one piercing already?) |
| 18 and self-supporting, most likely. Very much not a fan of multiple piercings and would discourage them heavily. We might consider it at 16 or older, for an exceptionally mature and responsible child who presents an extremely compelling argument in favor of their choice after hearing out our objections. |
| As soon as they were old enough to take care of them. Ear piercings are no big deal. If you get tired of them, you can stop wearing earrings and there is barely a scar left after the holes close. I had 5 in one ear and 6 in the other by high school. All of my nieces had three per year in ES. |
| I got one ear double pierced when I was 12. Then added a third to the same ear when I was 18. Agree with PP--not a big deal, if the kid is old enough to keep them clean/uninfected. Pretty harmless form of self-expression. |

I did when I was 12 and asked for them. Then got sick of them and let them close, then asked again about 2 years later and again, let them close in HS because I stopped liking the feeling of having earrings in most of the time. I still do actually, and the only reason I can wear them so sporadically probably now is that I come from a "pierce the baby's ears" culture (off the boat if you will!)- not that I necessarily advocate that.
I think old enough to clean and take care of them is a good benchmark. I know a lot of really conservative women in their 30s who wear double studs come to think of it. Maybe its a reflection of the time period that we were teens, who knows, but I think most don't bat an eye at them in their classic pearls and 4 ear holes. |
| As soon as they can take care of them themselves - which means different ages depending on maturity. Most kids are probably ready at about 10-12 years old. |

13?
|
| She's 11 now and only felt ready for the pain of piercing last year. I'd let her do a second if she asked. I wanted double peircings when I was about 12 and my mother always said no. |
| Once they can decide for themselves if they really want them. My parents double pierced my ears when i was 2 years old! I am 20 now and it really bothers me because i have two extra ugly holes in my ears. |
| My DD got her 1st ear piercing at 8 when she decided she wanted it done. She started asking for a 2nd piercing around her 15th bday and we agreed she could get it done at 16 if she still wanted it. She did, so it was her 16th bday present. Any more she'll have to wait until she's 18. |

Got mine at 16 I think.
She got hers at 15 but only after lots of convincing on her part. I stop at double piercings. She's already angling for a 3rd piercing in her cartilage and that is not happening so long as we're supporting her. |
