Need help choosing windows based on depth (to fit blinds)

We need new windows on our upper floor. The blinds I want require a 1.5 to 2 inch mounting depth along the entire length (they are side tracks for blackout shades). Does this correspond to some measurement on the window? Or is it affected by the trim?

We had our windows changed out and I was told that that can't be fixed, as I wanted same thing. I asked Pella and our contractors. The new casing seems to be wider on outside, so we lost some depth on the inside. But, you should ask the question when you get quotes.

The depth of your windows is based on the thickness of your outside walls. So, if you replace your windows, you will have the same depth with new ones that you had with your old ones.
