Harrisonburg/Charlottesville w. 2yo

We are going to Massanutten for a few days next week (praying the warm-weather forecast changes). Besides the obvious skiing and waterpark and the H'burg Children's museum, any suggestions for things to do with our 2yo?

We are thinking of staying another night in/near Charlottesville or somewhere between Harrisonburg and Richmond; any suggestions/thoughts there?

I would also welcome any good family-friendly restaurant suggestions in the area (food-allergy-friendly even better!).

Luray Caverns is nearby. I am not sure a 2 year old will appreciate the natural wonder, but it might be worth a try.
