Can anyone recommend a spiralizer worth buying?

I've seen some good recipes recently where they used zucchini "spiralized" in place of spaghetti/pasta. I'd like to buy and try a spiralizer. Is it hard to use? Any cheap ones that are good?

I had a Gefu Spirelli (cone / vegetti style) and just upgraded to the Paderno. Worth every penny.

I liked the Gefu the most, I plan to use it for zucchini pasta or lasagna noodles and this is perfect. It looks small enough to tuck into the drawer.

21:01, I'm PP at 19:49. I still have both the Gefu and the Paderno, and I would say it really matters on what you're going to do with it.

The Gefu works great with zucchini and cucumber. Once you start getting into harder vegetables, you really see the limitations. It struggles with sweet potato, beets, and butternut squash.

Also, the way the teeth are set up, it's kind of a pain to clean for such a little contraption. I end up soaking over night to swell any residue and then use a bottle burst to scrub. Sometimes you one bristles to the teeth.

The Paderno, despite it's clunky appearance, is really fast to use and clean. It's much more efficient, and the noodles are much nicer. Hands down it's the one you want if you plan at all to upgrade from zucchini at all.

All this being said, the Gefu is pretty inexpensive and east to store, so if you're not sure how much you'll be Spiralizing, then I'd start there. Once I realized how easily pasta could be replaced, and what other things I could make with other veggies, the Paderno became a more obvious choice.

I still use my Gefu if I'm doing a single zucchini for a faux-pho bowl at lunch or something.

Thanks for the advice 19:49 I'm the PP 21:01. I already ordered the Gefu from Amazon, I don't think I can cancel. Will just make the most of it.

Related question, as I've been thinking of buying one too: how IS zucchini "pasta"? I love the concept but detest mushy textures so I've been hesitant to buy the spiralizer and give it a whirl (pun intended).
