If you know the new school and have some lead time, use it to prepare him...visit new school, maybe take a photo of new teacher, classroom, school, etc and make a social story to prepare him. Talk to current classroom teacher so she can prepare him also from her end. May not be perfect, but having some familiarity with the new situation from the beginning may help smooth things out.
