ISO speech therapist in FFX/Oakton/centerville for APD - and Reading Horizons help?

I like the speech pathologist who conducted testing for my 7 y/o, but not sure she can work us into her weekly schedule. She is recommending an IEP but I'm already sensing push back from the FFX co school before the screening meeting.

School also mentioned they want to conduct their own speech tests. Is this typical? Wonder how long that will take. His teacher had not heard of APD. Not sure what speech services the school can provide (assuming we get an IEP) but planning to supplement with private anyway.

Also found this online - anyone with a therapist who uses? Strategy for Teaching Students with Processing Disorders How to Read - on you tube. My son does not seem to sound words out - he seems to be memorizing them. I've noticed this for quite a while - but since he's pretty fluent, no one seemed concerned.
