Oh UMD Booster....

Thought of you as I flipped though many, many pages of this to find UMD. LOL!

(and yes, these lists are silly, but just wanted to share my giggle)

Hmmmm....not so sure about GW beating out UChicago. UChicago ranking #36? Duke didn't even make the top 100?

I'm not a booster of UMD, Penn State, VA Tech, etc, etc, etc. But even I can't take this list seriously but it is good for a laugh.

No dog in this , didn't US news go out of business reporting the news? Are kodak and Enron doing restaurant reviews now? Who values any lists made by failures? US news with no news? Wtf?

OP, can you give us the ranking? I started flipping through all those pages but I have a job to do.

I think UMD is a great school, regardless, and I'd be happy for my kid to go there. Just curious.

Hmmmm.... Duke ranked #4. GW ranked #100 (it was Georgetown that ranked #33, ahead of Chicago -- at least PP got that ranking right). Maryland was #139.

Have a look at the methodology page -- not perfect, but at least as good as USNWR. I don't see what makes this ranking any more or less joke-y than any other.

Instant karma -- Duke actually was #3. Let's call that a typo and move on.

page 14 I think

I have no beef with UMD; it's a great school. And these rankings usually have very little meaning. It's just that the UMD booster is a little ridiculous so I wanted to tease him/her.

This actually looks like a pretty terrific site (beyond its rankings) -- tons of information with lots of different and interesting presentation options.

this ranking is bogus - there methodology http://resources.collegefactual.com/about/rankings-methodologies/best-colleges-rankings-overview/ requires data that they can't possible have access to in any meaningful way. Colleges and individuals just don't hand this data out.
