Vegetarian food for a birthday picnic?

Anonymous
I am trying to figure out a cost-effective and not stressful way to provide food for an outdoor picnic for about 35 adults and small children. Food must be vegetarian. Any suggestions?

Which cuisine?

Big pasta salad. A few quiches. A big green salad. Big lentil salad. (Lentils cost nothing!) cut celery and carrots with ranch dip. huge batch of brownies for dessert. Whatever fruit is on sale as well.

What meal will the picnic cover - lunch/dinner? What does the guest list look like (large, small, lots of kids or adults or both but the kids are too young to eat much?) And, what are the challenges with transporting the meal (as in it's in the back yard versus you have to drive there and will haul it by stroller to the event space)? Also, do you like to cook or prefer to buy it all prepared?

Pizza.

Pizza, big salad, fruit with a yogurt dip (or fruit kabobs), veggies with hummus, guacamole and chips and salsa, veggie sushi (just had this at a party for DS' friend and it was a huge hit). Have a ton more but most are better suited for indoors and away from heat/sun
