Classic navy blazer for women

Anonymous
I am in the market for a classic navy blazer. To wear with jeans mostly. I like a tailored fit. I am 5'7" tall and wear a size 6. Can you recommend a blazer? Thanks much.

I would look at Talbots first.

I like J Crew blazers to wear with jeans.

Theory also makes well cut, decently priced navy blazers. At least they did a couple years ago.

Whatever you buy, get it a size or two smaller than your regular size. Otherwise, it'll look bulky.

how does that work? you never put it on and you just swing it over one of your shoulders?

J Crew. J Crew Factory if you don't care if it is wool.

I like a theory also, but would not consider it "decently priced" for most people. A blazer would probably run upwards of 300$. That, to many is a lot of money!

Ha! No, you just don't button it.

I agree. Think about Kate Middleton and her tiny blazers. That's the right look. The old fashioned "classic" navy blazer looks dated.

For the real old fashioned classic look (that PPs are referring to as bulky) go to Brooks Brothers. I can't imagine wearing one of those with jeans though. For a more modern, less version I agree with J Crew. I have one by Bonby Jones (golf clothes designer) that's kind of a hybrid. Ralph Lauren might also have options.
