| I get that they are different- do I need both? |
Oh- and I am also thinking about a rice cooker. Can I combine these all in one? |

Steamer and pressure cooker are very different cooking methods.
Pressure cookers are better for stews, braises, beans, and yes, rice. This will give you a good idea on how you can use a pressure cooker and what kind to buy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4nOIRoe6mU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiCUKA7dDUs Rice cookers are helpful b/c they can be on a timer and have a warming function. Pressure cookers you have to be on hand to use. In terms of steamers, you don't really need anything more complicated than this: http://www.amazon.com/Norpro-175-Stainless-Vegetable-Steamer/dp/B001FBCP7O/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1409872922&sr=1-4&keywords=steamer |
| I have an Insta-Pot which is a slow cooker, rice cooker, pressure cooker all in one. It's awesome and heavy duty. The new model even acts like a yogurt maker. |
| I have a built-in steamer. Never use it. So much faster to just steam on the stove. |
| You can pretty much do anything in a pressure cooker you can do with a steamer and much more. For instance, you can steam vegetables in both but you can only make fried/broasted chicken in a pressure cooker. |
