New to area. Where is best to look for school ratings? Tganjs

You can start with greatschools.org, but take the ratings with a grain of salt as they reflect SES of the students more than anything. Ask specific questions on this forum.

How else would you rate? Test scores is an excellent way to determine how a school is performing and the SES / demographics would also let you know how you would fit in as a family.

Or use the search function on the forum. I think most school clusters have been discussed on this forum ad nauseum.

Also, check the MCPS website for the school stats which will give you some idea of the school, but not necessarily the culture of the school, which is important, too.

Test scores are an excellent way to determine how will the students in the school do on the tests. Which is not at all the same as how well the students learn in the school.

Also, I don't think that people look at SES/demographics to see how well they would fit in as a family, but maybe I am just overly cynical this morning.
