| Please share your best easy football food ideas. I would like to add in some new items for this year. I love football food and a couple of beers while watching he game! |
| Chips and onion dip. To cut calories, mix onion dip powder into plain greek yogurt. It tastes at least as good, probably better, as the sour cream version. You can also opt for a lower calorie dipper (tortilla chips, veggies, etc.). |
Not inexpensive, but I love shrimp and cocktail sauce for dipping.
Also, a block of cream cheese doused with Pickapeppa Sauce and served with Ritz Crackers. Sounds random but it is really delicious. |
Fruit tray. Grapes, strawberries, pineapple
Later in the season Apples with Carmel dip. |
healthy - veg chili; veggies with low fat spinach dip (if you have not sworn off carbs like half the population these days, you could put spinach dip in a pumpernickel bread bowl); fruit kebobs; kale chips; air popped popcorn with a variety of toppings - parm cheese and pepper for savory, cinnamon sugar for sweet)
not healthy - mini hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls; nachos; pork barbecue; 7 layer dip |
Fruit & fruit dip - 8 oz cream cheese & 8 oz marshmallow fluff with a dash of vanilla extract
Buffalo chicken dip - serve with scoops and celery sticks |
Chili. Serve it in the crockpot, have a little fixin's bar and several levels of hot sauce, everyone's happy. That, chips, salsa, beer, you're set.
If you want to get foo-foo, you could put out some spicy roast nuts or wasabi peas or the like. |
Slice Granny Smith apples and toss in some lemon juice to keep them from going brown. Top with Havarti cheese. YUM!
This buffalo chicken dip is in no way healthy, but comes out good every time: http://www.franksredhot.com/recipes/franks-redhot-buffalo-chicken-dip-RE1242 |
