Responding to a post

Anonymous
When I click on a post to open up and read it there is always a small white box at the end of the page to write a response to the OP. However, as of last night there is no place to write a response. If I want to make a comment I have to click on the "quote" button and then write.

Am I missing something? I'm using Mozilla Firefox as my browser, but always have so I'm thinking that is not the problem.

TIA

I removed the "Quick Reply" box which is what you are referring to. I discovered that it was the source of the majority of the automated spam that has been afflicting us. You can reply to a post by clicking the button that says "Reply" at the bottom of the message thread (where the white box used to be).

Unfortunately, the battle between me and the spammers is a ever escalating arms race. They attack, I counter, they change to a new tactic, I counter, repeat. I'm trying to resist measures that have significant user impact, but some changes such as this one will be noticeable.

Sure thing, that makes sense.

And for some reason, I never noticed the "reply" button at the end of the post. I guess I was so used to the white reply box.

Thanks.
