| Who makes the lightest weight down coat for women? Packable a plus! |
| How warm do you need? There are a ton of down sweaters available. |
| Uniqlo. Bonus: it's cheap and folds into it's own little bag. |
| Patogonia Down Sweater or Down Shirt. |
Agree with the Patagonia Down Sweater. Super lightweight. The downside is that it is not windproof (hence the sweater moniker) so not good for outdoor activities in the winter. I can't use mine for skiing, even in the spring, but it's great as a casual jacket for most of the winter around here. |

I bought this coat and LOVE it. Love love love love love it.
Its very light weight, so comfortable, versatile, warm, very flattering (no horizontal stripes, form fitting, comes in petite) . I am thinking about buying a second one, in case they stop making them! http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/75230?page=ultralight-850-down-coat |
| I saw a bunch of packable down jackets at Costco last week. |
| I like my Uniqlo one. Inexpensive and works for a wide range of temperatures. |
You need to layer if going outdoor in cold weather. This is when you want the lightest and least bulky. Otherwise, a light down coat will not be enough. You will be better off with a heavier coat if you do not layer. |
| What about Lands End? |
| The ll bean one linked above is awesome! Super lightweight, yet very warm. |
l And about as fugly as they come. The Patagonia Down Sweater is great for this climate. I wear it on all but a few (very cold) days. |
| Calvin Klein has a great packable down coat - I've had it for 2 years now and am buying a 2nd one this winter just to have. |
Is it warm? Just purchased and it seems so light!! |
That's what they have Costco. |
