Can Oyster kids go to Deal for 6th or do they have to go to the 19th Street campus?

Just checked the DCPS site and it lists Deal as my middle school even though Oyster has 6th-8th on 19th Street. Can Oyster families choose, or is this just outdated information?

According to a recent letter from DCPS *regarding the 2009-2010* school year, those Oyster students who live within the Deal boundary can choose to go to Deal or stay at Oyster; they can go to either middle school by right. Oyster students who do not live in the Deal boundary and don't want to stay at Oyster no longer get preference at Deal, but must apply there through the OOB process. They also have the right to attend whatever middle school is their neighborhood school. In short, for now, all Oyster students have two choices for middle school: Oyster or their assigned neighborhood middle school. Of course, I suppose these rules could change in the future.

Even if you are not in Deal's boundary, you should apply.
