how much work to expect?

This is our first year in public and I'm not getting a lot of information about the day from my child and very little work in her folder. How long should I wait? Second grade.

Since its the first week, don't expect much. Right now teachers are reviewing and seeing where their kids stand. With back to school night next week, I'm sure you'll get the info then on what to expect. I'm expecting the assignments to come in late next week or early the following week.

My daughter is in first and she had 2 "Book Reports" due this week. Basically they had to read a book, write down the title, author and give a line or two on what the book was about and a sentence on what they liked about it. They also had to draw a picture. Each took my daughter about 15 min: 5 to read, 5 to write and 5 to draw.
