Allergy Question: Can you carry an Epipen in your carry on bag?

Anonymous
My child has a peanut allergy. I carry an Auvi-Q (Epinephrine Injection) on me at all times in case of anaphylactic shock. I want to know can I carry it through the security gates? Do I need a physician's note to get through the security gates with the Auvi-Q?

Yes, we have had no problems bringing our epipens on the plane without a drs note. We usually bring at least two sets of two epipens each, so at least 4 epipens and sometimes 6. Since I figure you can't be too careful. We also have 2 inhalers, prednisone and benadryl.

Drinks and medicine for children are not limited to the 3 oz in a ziplock rule like other liquids. Just pull it out before you put it through the X-ray machine and show it to the tsa agent.
