How long can I store beef in the fridge?

| How long can I store ground beef in the fridge? It is vacuum sealed and was frozen. I took it out of the freezer a week ago and then life happened. Thanks for any help. |

The smell should tell you if the meet has gone bad or not.

| I'm usually the type to say it's OK if you left cooked meat on the counter for a few hours/left cheese unrefrigerated overnight etc, but one week is pushing it IMO. I'd toss it. |

I don't know where people are getting these answers from. Beef keeps in the fridge a week easily. Chicken keeps two to three days, and fish about a day. |
