Weekend breakfast in Bethesda?

Anonymous
What are people's recommendations for a family breakfast (not brunch) in Bethesda? We rarely eat breakfast out but our kitchen is under renovation. I'm looking for a sit-down meal.
Thanks.

Le Pain Quotidien. The service can be spotty though.

Give me LPQ over La Madeleine any day when it comes to chains. La Madeleine is gross!

If you can make it to Cabin John Mall, Attman's Deli has a good breakfast. I am a fan, though, of Tastee Diner for breakfast

I'm a fan of Old Georgetown Grill. IMO, much better than Tastee. I can't stand Original Pancake House.
There's a deli next to Matuba called Heckman's that's pretty good for just the basics.
I also like Louisiana Kitchen on Cordell, and the brunch at Uncle Julio's. Even though you said no brunch, and even though I otherwise hate Uncle Julios--their migas on weekends are good.

Finally, I know you said sit-down, but there's a pretty good food truck at the farmer's market -- at Old Georgetown and Executive on Saturdays, and at Bethesda Elementary on Sundays. The Sunday market also has a crepe stand.

P.S. More of my opinions: the problem with LPQ is not that it's a chain, it's just that it's not good. Expensive, bad service, bad coffee, and the food just ain't that good. A chain breakfast that I like is the Corner Bakery. There's one on Westlake behind Montgomery Mall.
