Does anyone know of any good websites that specialize in scuba diving trips? I'm trying to find something with flight, hotel, and scuba diving all included. Is there anything out there like that? Destination is open. |
Try your local dive shop(s). All of the ones I have frequented in NoVA (Alexandria, Fairfax, Manassas) coordinate dive trips.
Also, a quick google search will bring up all sorts of hits . . . |
Try www.bayadventures.com
I have used them for about 5 or 6 different trips...they'll do hotel+dive packages. I usually do the air myself, (use Fflyer points) but they can quote you airfare as well. I usually ask for a guy named Javier. Tell him what you are looking for and he'll give you suggestions--he has been to most places and always gives me good feedback. I have used him before and after having my son...and he even helped us choose a place when traveling with my (not so travel-experienced) parents and my 18 month old. |
I'm a rescue diver, and I wouldn't really go on such a planned trip. First, pick the area of the world you'd like to go....there are spectacular places all over Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Hawaii, California and Florida. ANY place you go, you will be able to find a good dive organization that can completely book you up the whole time you're there. you're bound to get shafted with those all in one deals. Just not as nice as you could plan yourself. Go to www.tripadvisor.com for help and advice if you want it. Also, if you really want it all planned out, what about a sailboat diving trip? Everythings is truly all-in-one that way, and it's bound to be a cool, different experience. |
If you are interested in a live-aboard I've done this a couple times... the price is right and the diving is good.
http://www.blackbeard-cruises.com/ Otherwise I would do what the PP said. Last trip I did, we flew to Belize, took a boat to Caye Caulker and found dive shops once we got there. |
is there a way to find other single divers in the area to go diving with? are there any good sites around here? |
Lots of the dive shops - perhaps most, at least the ones I've frequented- set up group scuba trips. You can also google and find sites that set up dive trips.
A way to meet other divers -single or not- is to take more classes through the local shops. Not only will you meet a lot of people and improve skills, but they are a great "in" for other resources people are seeking here. |
