| This is a work place celebration. But the person to be celebrated has diabetes and obviously won't like a regular cake. Is there something specially for those with diabetes instead of a cake? |
| We did one of those weird pampered chef cold veggie pizzas for someone who was on a diet, but for diabetes maybe meat and cheese trays and veggie and fruit trays? |

| Sugar free ice cream and sugar free toppings? |
| Go to dessert in this situation is an angel food cake with some kind of fresh fruit topping. As the wife of a type I diabetic I've prepared this many times. |
| Is this a surprise gathering? If not, I would just ask the honoree what they'd prefer. Some might prefer to avoid sweets altogether, including artifical sweeteners, some might be okay if the sugar content is buffered by a lot of fat and protein, etc. |
How is that better? There's still plenty of sugar in an angel food cake. Is it just because there's no frosting?
|
Cheese plate? They can blow the candles out from the brie.
|
| Order something like a tray from chick fil a. Then have pepperoni and cheese etc. |
| Fruit and cheese platter..nuts |
+1 |
| Isn't that what edible arrangements are for? |
Fruit is high in sugar too. Ps. Don't presume what a diabetic would or wouldn't like. If you are unsure ask. My type I spouse indulges occasionally and adjusts his insulin accordingly. |
| Angel Food cake, no icing. That is what my dad had for his birthday -he was diabetic. |
| Cheese plate with fancy nuts around. |
