Finding Out Who Teacher Will Be

My DD was in Kindergarten last year so at orientation we found out who her teacher was. Now that she is going to 1st grade, we got the principal's letter and supply list but still no word on the class assignment. Just curious, do they find out when they get to school or is there another method?

Depends on what school you are at and when the lists get done. Some send them out with the principals letter, some will post the lists in the hallway a day or two before school starts. You should also be able to start checking on schoolmax next week to find their assignment.

I checked School Max this morning and figured it out.
Log in, go to schedule tab and put the drop down on the far right to "all"

I hate the fact that there isn't any advance notice. Not everyone uses school max to figure it out and the first day is a huge cluster fuck.

Our ES's website says "Additionally, the teacher assignments found in the portal are temporary. As stated in our Back to School Letter, families will be notified of teachers assignments on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. " I REALLY hope that isn't true because we got the teacher we wanted.
