arlington schools

I am thinking about moving to Arlington, specifically to the Shirlington area, since I'd like to stay near 395 for my commute out of the beltway. I hear that Arlington schools are the best, but am concerned that the ones in this particular neighborhood are not as good. Are the better schools mostly off of route 66? Am I better off in fairfax county schools?

Abingdon does not have a great reputation, although word has it that the principal is excellent, and there are some very committed parents.

Your child has choice options there: Cambell, and Claremont, and Drew. So, it isn't like you have no options if one doesn't appeal. The people I know in that part of Arlington are all happy with their choice.

Your commute will be longer from Fairfax, which means less time with your child.
