Well, people will break car windows in the city for a handful of change and a Sugar Ray cd, so I wouldn't be tempting anyone with my multipack of toilet paper. |
Does no one see the irony in this? |
But why water if you have home filters? |
What if something happens to the water supply, the electricity supply and/or the workers get too sick to go to work. These are obviously worst case scenarios, but that is what people are prepping for. |
+1 Have you people never gone through any kind of emergency before? Hurricane, derecho, 9/11, etc.? It's called basic emergency preparedness. https://www.ready.gov/sites/default/files/2019-06/emergency_checklist_parents.pdf Speaking from experience, have cash on hand and food & water in the pantry. It sucks if you have kids and are stressed about feeding them. |
80 percent of people have only mild symptoms. Even if 100 percent of the population got infected, we would still have water and electricity. I am prepping for a few weeks of quarantine. Anything more extreme is ridiculous. |
I know.. but this is the same as snow storm prepping. It happens regardless of if you say it or not. |
|
I think anyone who saw me thought I was prepping, but I wasn’t!
6 big bottles of distilled water - actually it was for my humidifier. Giant bottle of vinegar - again, for humidifier 6 boxes of pasta - it was on sale and it’s a brand I like. 10 cans of soup - it was buy 2 get 3 free and DH likes it And a huge thing of non bleached toilet paper. |
Strengthens your heart. Anyone can use it google it |
A case of 40 waters at Costco is $3. 10 cases is $30. Somehow I'll find the money.
|
I lived through a natural disaster and there were no services for about 2 weeks and Red Cross was delivering very, very basic supplies. Like bottled water and that's it. So, for this, I'm aiming for 4weeks of supplies b/c, although I assume we won't get sick and we certainly won't die, the DMV will freak the eff out and I might be home for a few weeks iwth kids. |
Guilty!

| I'm so annoyed to be stocking up again. I have been actively trying to stop the stockpiling so we can have a less cluttered kitchen and house without closets crammed full of stuff. I've found it so much more cost effective to ONLY replace something when we are out of it. Now we're back to having so much stuff its all over the place. |
If everyone waits until the last minute, there will be tons of people without any food or supplies. All the people slowly stocking up are helping out the ignorant fools who will wait until the last minute and wonder why they cannot find toilet paper. It is just common sense to make sure you have back ups of all your necessary items and have some extra canned goods. |
Y'all are crazy. This isnt ebola. |
