I've wondered before--is Trump surrounded by imaginary friends?

All of the smart people have quit or been fired. All that's left are idiots.

Quit calling them idiots like this is a bad joke. They are a transnational crime syndicate masquerading as a government. They are destroying our institutions.
They don’t care if they look like fools when they hold this vast amount of power. In the end they’re laughing at us.

I was referring to federal employees in the White House, Trump's advisors. Not Giuliani, Toensing and diGenova.

Pence and Pompeo may be complicit but they're not a "transnational crime syndicate". Who are Trump's advisors? Kelly quit. Jared and Ivanka have mostly moved to Israel. Mulvaney?

I posted the question, because he's always invoking this "they" and also "we" and I always have the impression they are on some level not real--like the general saying "Sir, we checked and about 150 people would be killed".

I mean, I know there are actual cronies and staff and advisors and whatnot but with Trump there is always this weird imagiary feel to it, to the point where I wonder if there really ARE imaginary friends also talking to him. He has such strange ways of expressing himself.

And his attorney, Sale, quit because of it.

Didn't he just retain Sale a couple days ago? Or does it just seem that way?

I wondered who fired whom in that attorney client relationship.

LOCK HIM UP.

It would warm the cockles of my cold heart to see Nancy Pelosi reintroduce the power of Inherent Contempt with the arrest of Rudy Giuliani. Let him dry out in the tombs underneath the Capitol Building for a couple days and drag him out to testify without a shower.

I think the same day Sale was announced to be his attorney he was also quoted on CNN as saying something about how Rudy says something and goes and does another thing.

You’d quit too if your client made you sign your name to this ridiculousness.

Pete Sessions was basically a good guy who chucked his moral compass when the Tea Party came on the scene. I would've never voted for him, but appeared to be decent. Now he risked his family and his reputation for campaign contributions.

I did vote for him, before I moved here. I'm shocked by all this. Did he go around the bend? Was it greed? Or did he become a Tea Partier?
