But I guess that's the privilege of being the dominant group -- you get to set the definitions and the language. Again, there is a difference between 1) it's true that we are probably unlikely as a society to get to 50/50 representation of men and women in all fields, and 2) we as a society should expect that individual women that DO want to do these jobs should not be pre-emptively excluded. It follows that in fields that are dominated by men, it will likely require formal efforts to ensure that the cumulative effects of conscious and unconscious biases are not keeping them out. |

| Nobody is saying men and women aren't different. We're saying it is doubtful it's a big factor and certainly not as big as implicit bias and sexism. If we left it up to white men to invite us to the table, we would never be invited ... not because we don't add value but because like defaults to like. |

Not PP, but most violent criminals aren't sociopaths who commit crimes for amusement. Most violent criminals are acting out of some emotion, usually anger, fear, or pain/betrayal. |
I don't know a single Indian woman that is good with software development. Indians women are focused on family and work the 35 hour job. Very risk averse. Hours 10:00 to 4:00. Every assignment has a big risk of not getting done right and/or on time. I know a couple Chinese women that are very good. Very different cultures. |
