Can’t afford to pay for new pouches every time he loses one (he told me it’s $30 a pop). Apparently half the kids bring a second phone as a work around the pouch.

Okay, so they have a second phone. They gamble that when they are caught using their phone, and the teacher discovers their pouch is already full, they get automatic detention. It’s fine, but gets rid of excuse “I wasn’t on my phone, I was just putting it away”.

Hey, don’t get me wrong, I don’t really mind the pouch system, I just refuse to pay to replace equipment that was forced on us and so far nobody has given him a hard time because he turns his phone off and keeps it away during the day. As for the second phones, I’m just reporting what I’ve heard when kids mock the program. Overall it sounds like kids are on their phones less, so I guess it’s working.

If you kid can manage to not lose a $600 phone, he can take care of if a pouch.

Mine can't, but sure you know all for kids you've never met.
