Recommend fun bars for 30something crowd in Old Town Alexandria and DC?

Not really looking for a club or lounge atmosphere - more just a fun, social place to go where we can talk to others! Looking for somewhere to go in Old Town tonight and DC tomorrow.

I was in Murphy's Irish Pub a few weeks ago. We had a really good time. I like the downstairs vs upstairs. My friends and I are in our 30's. The place was packed with all different ages and live music.

Ok, someone was telling me that there is a place next door to Murphy's that's even better.. any idea what that could be?

Possibly the PX, the speakeasy? Go around the corner and look for the blue light (no sign). Knock on the door and tell them you're there for the PX.

I've not been in a while, so I'm not sure if they've eased on their dress requirements, but it used to be that guys needed a jacket.

You're not going to get into the PX on a Saturday night without a reservation

Light Horse Tavern, not Lighthouse http://www.thelighthorserestaurant.com/

There are a lot of 30-somethings at Columbia Firehouse, too - I don't like the food there so much, but the cocktails are good.

The Majestic also has good cocktails - you might be able to all sit at the bar and talk there
