What is the best way to prevent open packages of crackers and other snacks from picking up other flavors in the pantry? This happens mostly with Saltines & Triscuits, but I just had it happen with potato chips. The snack has usually been open only 1-2 weeks and is either closed with a clip (which is of course not air tight) or put inside a zip top bag. When I go to eat them they are clearly not stale - they are still crunchy - they just have this odd flavor to them which I contribute to picking up flavors of other items stored in the same cabinet. Do you buy airtight containers to prevent this? How about the foodsaver? I am tired of throwing out all these snacks.
