Best test prep book for the NNAT?

Anonymous
I have a rising 1st grader and understand he will take the NNAT this fall. Looking on amazon, I can't find a good test prep book. Any recommendations for specific books?

I know this will be flamed of course and do appreciate any helpful responses to my question.

Legos, Professor Layton and puzzles are your kid's best preparation for that test.

Possibly minecraft too.

Anything that gets them thinking about patterns and shapes.

There is no need to prep for NNAT. According to these threads, only Asians prep.

Love it! School has not yet started but the AAP thread comes to life....

Which is why they make up 50% of the AAP classes. I prepped my Caucasian, he scored 99% and was admitted. No regrets. Take the high road, don't prep and feel good about yourself when your borderline application is rejected.

There is an older Asian woman who has set up test-prep shop at the Centreville library this summer. We have seen her there several times, always with other Asian kids and always working out of an AAP or NNAT book. It is pretty shameless IMO!

Smug much?

For what it's worth, my kid and all of his friends in AAP didn't prep and got in anyway. Not that it matters. It is grade school after all, not Harvard. You've got a looooonng road of pushing ahead of you.

If whites have tutors come to their houses and prep their kids for AAP that is not shameless? At least the Asian lady is not hiding what she is doing unlike most whites who pretend that only Asians prep while they spend more money and effort prepping. We should call them preppy whites.

Prep....you'll be happy you did. I'm curious why people are criticized for prepping for the nnat but not the SAT.

The spectrum books at Costco are good. Anything with patterns shapes etc. logos, mine craft, etc help too.

The shameless part is that this woman is teaching children to cheat on the test, and the tutor and parents see no problem sitting around in public teaching kids to cheat.
