With the recent report out from CDC about shaking someone’s hand, how to you greet someone without shaking their hand? Is it a rude to tell the person you don’t shake hands? How do I go about this? Do I keep hand sanitizer handy like the POTUS?
I was thinking of just smiling and nodding my head without extending my hand. |
Wave |
I just say I'm cming off a cold and don't want to spread it. They usually pull back immediately. |
Fist bump |
What is the recent report out about shaking hands??? |
No. That's just for disgraced community organizers. |
You can bow, like the Japanese do and like Obama does to dictators. |
Does he do that in the mirror? ![]() |
Namaste
![]() It's egalitarian. It recognizes that the same divinity resides in you and other people. I have heard the word and gesture described as stating "The divinity within me, bows to the divinity within you!" If you are getting tropical diseases, then look at the way people from those climates greeted each other! |
I do this with a slight wave, whenever I'm traveling to disease prone areas. |
But wave with the palm toward you. Away is offensive in some cultures. |
In a disease prone/underdeveloped area or if you're visibly sniffling, I get it if you don't shake hands. But to have people say it in NYC comes across as ludicrous. But I have had it happen -- it makes the person who extended their hand in a job interview feel like a dumbass but do what you need to do OP. |
Donald Trump says he doesn't like shaking hands because he meets a lot of people everyday since he is famous and they all want to shake his hand. So he doesn't like it because it's how germs and colds are spread. |
Just don't out your hand out. |
What if you shake hands and then be careful to not touch your face or anything until you either wash your hands or use hand sanitizer? I am too concerned about coming off as a weirdo to refuse a handshake. |
