Not AA, but we use Dr. Howard Brooks in upper Georgetown. He is AA and very familiar with ethnic skin.
AA female here. I've seen Dr. Brooks and he's fine. I've since switched to Cheryl Burgess MD, on M st Georgetown. She is excellent (outside of some long wait times once you arrive). I've found her attentive, thoughtful and progressive (on the cutting edge of her field). Highly recommend her, despite my commute from the suburbs by car! She's the answer for me!

A vote for Dr. Brooks.
Dr. Brugess staff is rude and the wait times are ridic. Not to mention, she does not take insurance. |
Lynn McKinley Grant, M.D. in Chevy Chase, Md. is very good.
Try Dr. Robyn F. James or Dr. Jeffry A. Weddington at Advanced Dermatology/Southrn MD.
Dr. Burgess...My problem was with hair, not skin, but during my appt with her she threw in some helpful info about the importance of staying hydrated and tips cleaning my skin. I had to wait about a week for an appt, but only had to wait a few mins to be seen on the day the appt was scheduled. It does suck that she doesn't take insurance, but I was happy with the result and she was able to address and treat the problem in just one visit. I would def go back to her.
