Plenty of fodder for discussion. In a nutshell, they LOVE SLACS, but not so much Ivy love. Some schools are trashed - Vanderbilt #54, Wash U #63, JHU #67 NYU #72. Not sure if these are based on size (smaller is better) and proximity to Boston, MA. |
| Plenty of Ivy representation in top 20. |
I think the list is right on target.
|
| I think I just died of shock looking at the costs. |
Ouch-I agree- I thought saving $200K per child would be enough.... apparently that doesn't cover 4 years for many of the schools. |
|
Lists tilts heavily toward the microschools located in remote areas. No way are schools like NYU way below microscopic colleges like F&M.
Not a fan of USNEWS, but their methodology seems to yield more believable results than this one. |
I agree, the bias is obvious. |
Not with Williams as no. 1. |
No, that's why I've been saying most SLACs aren't worth the $65K a year in after tax dollars, especially since more and more students are taking five yearas to graduate. |
| This list is crap - it's more like a list of Ivy league and smallish privates in the northeast plus a few west coast schools. This should be re-termed the Ivy league and private lib schools list. How many schools in the south are represented in the top 50 - maybe 5? |
Why 5 years? Are there more class and credit requirements these days? |
Williams has always been a op notch school. |
|
This list is a total joke.
|
| It's never been in |
| Hilarious. What a waste of time putting this together and reading lists. I am do glad our sons are out of college and moving on. |
