In the NFL, smoking weed is EIGHT TIMES worse than beating on a woman till she blacks out

Smoke weed a few times = suspended for a year

knock out a woman and drag her limp body out of an elevator by her hair = 2 game suspension.

Women, please make it known to the NFL that this is UNACCEPTABLE.

Yes, yes it is.

I was just going to post this. It's horrifying. I haven't seen the video -- but he beats her unconscious and drags her from the elevator? Weed 8 games; Big Ben got 4 games suspension for bar bathroom sex with a college girl (consent was disputed and not proven, case was dropped by local PD).

The Rice slap on the wrist is ridiculous!

OP here - jeff, i think this should be in off-topic or political and not in sports/fitness because it is an issue that transcends sports.

Furthermore I think people should know about this and those that don't follow sports might not hear/read about this if it is in this forum.

'The Ravens and their fans have remained supportive of Rice. He was cheered by the crowd during an open training camp practice Monday at M&T Bank Stadium.'

Ugh. And I was just starting to hate the Ravens less.

Who do we contact at the NFL and is there already a letter or email campaign going? We need to all sign onto a letter or otherwise communicate our outrage.

I agree I completely. Rice should have been punished way more.

On the other hand, she went and married him days later, so she couldn't be forced to testify against him. If women don't respect themselves, how can they demand men or an organization like the NFL to respect them?

Don't bother; the Ravens and their fans are awful, and this is coming from an Orioles fan.

Completely agree. The best way to take a stand is to not spend a cent on anything football related - jerseys, games, etc. Spread the word. The NFL is actively trying to get more female fans and then they do this.

Doubt if Komen would back out of the NFL partnership for this.
