Can you recommend a good, inexpensive doll for a one year old? I have a boy and would love to find a little boy doll but haven't had much luck - and it probably really doesn't matter. I think a doll will be good to help teach him to be gentle (although from what I've read girls automatically rock and cuddle baby doll and boys use it as a hammer! Gotta love our genes!)
Anyway, if you've had a soft little baby doll that your baby has loved, please pass along the brand name. Thanks! |
| I found my kids didn't really like dolls - but preferred animals. My youngest - a one year old boy - has a soft dog that he tucks into bed, gives drinks to, offers food to, etc. Perhaps you could play those kinds of things with something your son already loves. |
| Baby Elmo, a favorite in our house. |
| My daughter has been in LOVE with her Fisher-Price Little Mommy Doll (stereotyping name aside) since she received it for her 1 year birthday. It has a soft body and a plastic head (which is nice since my daughter likes to feed her milk and snacks sometimes and she's easy to clean). Similar to what you are thinking of trying, I used the doll to encourage my daughter to give up the bottle. I spent a whole day feeding the doll from a sippy and telling her what a good girl she was. To my amazement, it worked (after a month of other failed attempts). |
