Large bruise on back of thigh...cause for concern?

Anonymous
I am currently taking Lovenox/Baby Aspirin because I was diagnosed with a clotting problem after a couple of miscarriages. Suddenly this week I have a bruise on the very back of my right thigh. It has a lump underneath it. It started out small and light but has now grown to be about the size of a bottom of a cup and blue/purple. I'm sure it's nothing but I can't think of anything that may have caused it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Unless it's warm to the touch or it's painful I wouldn't worry about it. I get bruised from hitting the corner of my desk on a routine basis.

The lump underneath is odd sounding. I'd see a doc to be safe.

I started doing yoga last week and my hamstrings have been super tight. I didn't even think of it before but wonder if it's an injury/tear.

I had several of those when I was on lovenox. but mine were very painful. I had some smaller ones like yours and done large egg sized ones. I went to ER WHERE they did an ultrasound and determined they were subcutaneous and not deep vein and referred me to a haematoligist who said they weren't serious but they were obviously a reaction to the lovenox so he too me off them and put me on on xarelto. They eventually grew smaller and eventually almost disappeared. Still have some purple bruises.

are you by chance taking phentermine? I bruised a lot while on that. If you google the drug and bruising you will see what I mean.

Lovenox and aspirin will do that. I am taking Effient and aspirin, and find I am bruising a lot, and when I bleed, Keep bleeding.

Or you have Ebola.

If you take a drug that is limiting your ability to clot (like aspirin), it will make you bruise very easily. I would ask the doctor about the lump, though.

Some kind of edge of a chair you are sitting on? Maybe you have your legs crossed or sit on one side or have your weight on one side so only one back of the leg gets the bruise?
