I'm inheriting a cusinart good processor that has a chopping blade and a slicing disc. How does this work for slicking/dicing large quantities of onion? Also does it slice tomato?

If the "good processor" doesn't come with a manual, look up the model and download your manual here.
I am afraid you'll have to still slice tomatoes by hand. |

The chopping blade tends to pulverize the onions, even with short bursts, in my experience.
I have not tried slicing. |
| I have a cheapy Sunbeam food processor and the slicing blade works fine for onions. The only place it doesn't quite get is the last bit so you end up with one disc of onion from the side. You can slice that quickly with a knife at the end and you'll have nice end-to-end slices. |
