AAP center and changing classes

So my son was originally in AAP and switched to honors.

For the 8th grade course sheet he put honors but now would like to change his core classes such as English, History, and Science from Honors to AAP. Would I have to call the school and register the classes, or talk to the school counselors during open house or orientation day?
