Does anyone have any helpful comments on Dickenson College?

Besides a lot of "junk" mail from college never heard of, we're receiving a heavy push from Dickinson (counselor is recommending it as well). DC is actually slightly above range so it could be a "safety". To be truthful, our real concern is whether a school such as this (and other so-called 2nd tier SLACs) are really worth $55,000? Seem like from other posts on this forum that many think not? Any helpful thoughts (as opposed to the snarks) would really be helpful.

What does your DC want from college? How does that connect with what Dickinson has to offer? I don't know anything recent . I know an alum kid who recently opted for an in-state school over D, but there is more than 1 child in the family and costs mattered. Also, that kid found what they wanted in state. Maybe D offers things that counselor, etc see as a match for your DC.

We toured Dickinson as a family. It's a lovely campus but very expensive. It didn't sing to DC so we didn't even apply. My sense was that it is tough to get into. It did offer one of the two majors DC was interested in but the experience just fell flat for her. She went in-state at $9500 a year and we never looked back.

19:25 back. Not sure if this helps but I remember at the presentation after the tour that Dickinson claims xlnt alumni contacts for job placement after. Of course every school claims that but my sense was that the D's grads did try to get the recent alums jobs. Hope that's helpful.
