School supplies

How can I find out what school supplies to buy? We're new to the area.

Welcome. I looked on school websiteas we are not new to the area but new to the school.

They should be on your school website. The Office Depot and Staples nearest your school may also have the lists on display.

Target has a lot of the local school lists. Your school website should also have the lists posted.

First check to see if the PTA sells them already done and delivered -if it is ES.

For MS, they usually have a generic list and the student gets the individual class items on the first day of school.
For HS, I would wait until after the second day of school.

If they aren't posted on the school website, just call the school office. they will have them. PP is right -- many are also available in the Target/Walmart school supplies sections as well.

Orders for the kits from the PTA have deadlines which are passed, I'm sure.

The PTA kits had deadlines for early ordering/reduced cost, but can still be ordered now for regular price.

We ordered ours through the PTA. So much easier than running around to different stores in this area. Even if the deadline passed, I would ask them.

Our PTA had no deadlines and made up their own kits by buying in bulk.

Depends on the school. At DD's school the deadline has passed and there's no way to submit a late order.

OP, check your school's website. If the supply list is posted, but doesn't say 2014-15, call the school to make sure it's the current list.
